Clear terms, no hiding the important parts

Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Master Software Solutions LLC, a Texas limited liability company, which operates Solmate. They cover the Solmate iOS app, this website and Solmate's social features. By using Solmate, you agree to them.

Who can use Solmate

You must be 13 or older to use Solmate. From 13, you can use guided plans and timers (sized gentler under 18), outdoor logs, Quick start, friends and the Tan Passport. Tan anyway, Ask Sol and photo analysis are for adults 18 and over. In a group room, each person's timer is sized for them; joining a room never gives you someone else's time.

Keep your age and your skin and sun answers accurate, because Solmate sizes your sessions from them. You're responsible for your account and for activity on it.

Please read this before using a plan

NOT MEDICAL ADVICE

Solmate gives estimates, reminders and records for your time in the sun. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. UV exposure carries real risk. Solmate's times are estimates from a model, the forecast and the answers you give, not an examination of your skin, and no timer, estimate, sunscreen or plan guarantees protection from sunburn or other UV damage. Stop if your skin feels hot or tender or looks pink, follow your clinician's advice about sun exposure, and see a healthcare professional about any skin concern. You are responsible for your own decisions about sun exposure, including choosing Tan anyway on a day Sol recommends rest.

Ask Sol and photo analysis

Ask Sol (adults 18 and over, with Premium) and photo analysis (adults 18 and over) are optional. When you use them, the information described in our Privacy Policy goes through our servers to OpenAI. AI answers and shade estimates can be wrong. They describe appearance and give general guidance; they don't diagnose a condition, establish your skin type or change your exposure limits, and they aren't a substitute for medical advice.

Premium subscriptions

Premium adds group sessions, Ask Sol, progress scans, every Learn read, custom app icons and a verification badge. It's an auto-renewing weekly, monthly or annual subscription bought through the App Store. Before you confirm, Apple's purchase sheet shows the price, the billing period and any free trial or introductory offer you're eligible for; Apple decides eligibility. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm.

A subscription renews automatically at the price shown unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and renewal is charged in the 24 hours before that period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Solmate can't cancel it for you, and deleting your Solmate account doesn't cancel it. If a price changes, you'll be told as the App Store requires. Refunds are handled by Apple.

Gifts and referrals

A gift code gives an eligible account seven days of Premium at no charge. Each account can redeem one gift and can't use its own code, and opening a link alone doesn't redeem it. When someone you referred starts a qualifying paid subscription, you can earn 30 days of Premium, once per person. Codes have no cash value. We may change or end these offers; that won't take back Premium already granted.

Using social features responsibly

Solmate has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Social features are for genuine, respectful connection. Don't harass, threaten or bully anyone, impersonate someone, share another person's private information, post unlawful material or anything involving sexual exploitation or abuse, use a name, username or photo that is sexual or hateful, encourage dangerous exposure or burn challenges, misuse someone else's account, or interfere with the service. We may remove a name, username or photo, and restrict or close an account, to enforce these terms.

Use Block or report on a person's page in the app to raise a concern. A report goes to our team for review and doesn't block the person; blocking stops the interactions that control describes. You can also contact us.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you add to Solmate, like your name, photos and notes. You give us permission to store, process and show it as needed to run Solmate, for example showing your cover photo to people who can see your profile. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for the records described in our Privacy Policy.

Solmate's intellectual property

Master Software Solutions LLC owns Solmate, including its software, design, branding, text, and other product materials, except for material owned by our licensors or users. These terms give you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use Solmate; they do not transfer ownership of the product or brand.

Service availability and termination

We may change, suspend, or end features, and we may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or harms the service or other people. You may stop using Solmate at any time and can delete your account in the app or by emailing support.

No warranty

Solmate is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, including that an estimate is accurate for you or that the service will always be available or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Master Software Solutions LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities arising from your use of Solmate. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

If you got Solmate from the App Store

These terms are between you and Master Software Solutions LLC, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are responsible for Solmate and its content. Your right to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Solmate.

If Solmate fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for the app, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation for it. Apple isn't responsible for any claim about Solmate, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection claims, or for investigating or defending a claim that Solmate infringes someone's intellectual property.

You confirm that you aren't located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you aren't on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for a significant change we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using Solmate after that means you accept the updated terms.
